根据新华社所提供的最新讯息，于5月26日进入广东省惠州市的一名韩国人已被确诊为中国首例输入性中东呼吸综合征（MERS）病例，中国将极有可能被再次卷入一场与病毒作斗争的国际大作战中。

据世界卫生组织（WHO）公布数据显示，截止2015年5月25日，全球累计实验室确诊的感染MERS病例（简称MERS）共1139例，其中431例死亡，病死率接近40%。

Most people who became ill with MERS had traveled to, lived in, or were in close contact with someone who had traveled to the Arabian Peninsula. It is unclear why some individuals become ill and why others do not. People with chronic health conditions or weak immune systems may be at greater risk.

大多数患中东呼吸综合征的人都曾经到过或居住在阿拉伯半岛地区，又或者与到访过该地区的人有过密切接触。目前尚不清楚为何有些人会得该病，而有些人不会得。有慢性疾病或者免疫系统较弱的人群患病的风险较大。

Most people who got infected with MERS-CoV became severely ill with a respiratory illness with symptoms such as: fever, cough, shortness of breath.
大多数患者会表现出严重的呼吸系统疾病症状，包括：发烧、咳嗽以及呼吸急促。

ps：该病的潜伏期为2至14天，典型表现为急性呼吸道感染，起病急，高热(可达39-40℃)，可伴有畏寒、寒战,咳嗽等症状。

根据韩国保健福祉部今日发布的报导，截止6月1日，韩国又有3名与中东呼吸综合征(MERS)病例密切接触者被确诊感染。至此，韩国中东呼吸综合征确诊患者增至18人，而被列入隔离观察对象的人数更是高达682人。

值得庆幸的是，虽然已有罹患中东呼吸综合征的韩国病患进入中国，但在与之密切接触过的64名中国人中暂无一人出现不适。

最后需要提及的是，该病毒全部的感染来源尚不完全清楚。不过，根据部分现有研究所得出的结论，骆驼很可能是主要的感染源之一。
